  • Vehicle registration;
  • Driver registration;
  • Email address;
  • Court identification;
  • Mailing address; and

What We Do with the Identifying Information We Collect

We require this information to verify your identity, track your compliance, and process your payments. In more detail, we require:

  • Your vehicle and driver registration information, to confirm your identity when you register to take a defensive driving course. The State of Texas requires that we collect this identification confirmation.
  • Your email address, to create a user login and to communicate with you in the event you forget your password, to advise you of limited time to complete the course before a deadline, and/or to notify you of the e-file status of your completion certificate.
  • The identification of the court that issued the citation so that we can (a) include that on your completion certificate and (b) e-file that completion certificate with the appropriate court.
  • Your mailing address, so that we can send you a hard copy of your completion certificate. The State of Texas requires this mailing.
  • Your credit card information so that we can process payment for use of the ExpressLane Defensive Driving services.

How We Use Cookies

A cookie is a small text file that a website places on your computer's hard drive. A cookie allows the site to remember you when you return. We use traffic log cookies to compile data about site traffic and site interaction so that we can offer better site experiences and tools in the future. We only use this information for statistical analysis purposes, and then the data is removed from the system. A cookie in no way gives us access to your computer or any information about you, other than the data you choose to share with us.

You can choose to accept or decline cookies. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually modify your browser setting to decline cookies if you prefer. This may, however, prevent you from taking full advantage of the website.
